Lara is OUT OF THE OFFICE until Tuesday, August 18.
Come join us at church!!
Just a reminder – ALL ARE WELCOME to come to church. We have room for 165 people and it doesn’t matter if you are old or young, you are welcome. We heard through the grapevine – and we don’t know who it was – that someone thought we were saying to those over 65 that they shouldn’t come. Well that’s just not true. You are welcome. We have people in their 80s coming and we have people who are babies coming. Please make sure you don’t have any underlying health concerns, we want to keep you healthy. But do come.
This coming Sabbath (August 15), join us for:
Family Service at 9:45am
Worship Service at 11:15am

From Pastor Roger
The world has changed a lot this year. The unprecedented upheaval has not been seen in our lifetimes at all. The COVID-19 pandemic has dramatically affected church as we have come to expect it. Visitation is mostly by phone. Church was live-streamed only for 14 weeks! And now the schools are going to go back to online only this fall.
With new realities comes new opportunities. Google searches for the term “Second Coming” is five times greater than it has ever been. So are terms like “End of the World.” People just want to know what’s going on and nobody has the answers to these questions like Seventh-day Adventists. So, with new realities we must re-think how we do ministry in the coming months or longer.
Therefore, this fall, we are planning an evangelistic thrust that is not like any other we’ve ever planned. We are evaluating if it’s even possible to do a traditional seminar, other than online. But online is a guess about how well it works right now. So, we are going to launch a major initiative that we know works and has worked in the past, online, via zoom, telephone or even in person.
This fall, we are working to create a team of at least 30-50 people who will get involved with doing one, two or three Bible studies. We’ll train them, support them, and help them. There is no door knocking involved, because we will be doing plenty of advertising to get this going and we’ll be getting plenty of responses from people who are asking for studies. We already have about 10 people on the team. We need 40 more. Would you be interested in grading lessons for people taking Bible studies? Would be interested in going online and sending an occasional note to someone doing them? Would you be interested in mailing lessons to people? We want to train you, help you, support you. We want to see the church work together as a team to reach people for the kingdom.
The goal is to get 150-200 Bible studies started this fall. It’s a big goal, but people are more open to the gospel when change is happening and there has been plenty of change going on.
Would you prayerfully consider being part of this team of people. We’ll fill you in on the details as we get closer to launching. You don’t need to know everything about the Bible to do these. We’ll give you the lessons and even the expected answers. We’ll help answer tough questions you may receive. Would you prayerfully consider joining this team. I love being your pastor! This church is making a difference
Check out the new App for our church. It gives up-to-date information from our webpage, our calendar, our database. You can sign up to help in the outreach event for the fall, or you can join a Community Group. You can download the app from our webpagewww.AdventistCommunity.church and then simply log in with the church name (remember, it’s the Adventist Community Church).
Go to the new website at https://www.adventistcommunity.church and at the bottom of the front page you will find links to download the app for your Android or iPhone. This will allow you to get quick and easy access to many things like our weekly calendar, our Facebook page, etc. It’s always a good idea to have easy ways to stay connected and get church news, especially right now!
Plan to join the live worship this coming Sabbath, or our live stream. We’ve been working on things and improving them. If the livestream link you are trying to get to doesn’t work, go to one of the others from this page: https://www.adventistcommunity.church/watch-live/Even though things are imporoved, there may still be some glitches to work out.
Or simply call the church office to pre-register or just show up with your mask. We’d love to see you.
WE HAVE A FANCY NEW CHURCH WEBSITE!!

If you are already giving via the Adventist giving site, we want to encourage you to keep using that, andPLEASE don’t go into debt to give to your church. But thank you for your support.
There is a position open for a volunteer treasurer. Tasks involve approximately 8-16 hours per month. For more details on knowledge and equipment necessary, please contact David Cannard at 360-608-0587 ordmjcannard@comcast.net.
