From Pastor Roger
I’ve been a pastor long enough to realize that ministry certainly looks better now. One thing I have become really clear on, church services are nice, but they aren’t necessary. Many of you have found that out over the last few months? However, It feels like Amos is correct today:
Amos 8:11 (NIV)
11 “The days are coming,” declares the Sovereign LORD,
“when I will send a famine through the land—
not a famine of food or a thirst for water,
but a famine of hearing the words of the LORD.
There is a famine in the land. A famine for the word of God. This is the basis of my sermon this weekend.
So? How are you doing spiritually? How are you feeding yourself spiritually? I’d love to know. We’d love to share some of those stories here. Please let us know how you are doing spiritually by answering this two question survey: https://adventistcc.ccbchurch.com/goto/forms/119/responses/new
By now, we’re sure you have seen and heard that we have a new church website.
The new website is colorful, smart phone compatible, easier to navigateand we have new, faster, better streaming options! https://www.adventistcommunity.church
Plan to join the live worship this coming Sabbath, or our live stream. We’ve been working on things and improving them. If the livestream link you are trying to get to doesn’t work, go to one of the others from this page: https://www.adventistcommunity.church/watch-live/Even though things are imporoved, there may still be some glitches to work out.
Or simply call the church office to pre-register or just show up with your mask. We’d love to see you.
Check out the new App for our church. It gives up-to-date information from our webpage, our calendar, our database. You can sign up to help in the outreach event for the fall, or you can join a Community Group. You can download the app from our webpage atwww.AdventistCommunity.church and then simply log in with the church name (remember, it’s the Adventist Community Church).
Go to the new website at https://www.adventistcommunity.church and at the bottom of the front page you will find links to download the app for your Android or iPhone. This will allow you to get quick and easy access to many things like our weekly calendar, our Facebook page, etc. It’s always a good idea to have easy ways to stay connected and get church news, especially right now!
There is a position open for a volunteer treasurer. Tasks involve approximately 8-16 hours per month. For more details on knowledge and equipment necessary, please contact David Cannard at 360-608-0587 or atdmjcannard@comcast.net.
Since we aren’t “passing the plate” at church these days, here are some other options for your giving.
You can bring your offerings to the church, or mail them (address at bottom). You can also go to theAdventist Giving Site to give – click here. We’ve also added the ability to give viaVenmoor Paypal by searching “@AdventistCC“. Finally, we have giving kiosks where you can give with all major credit cards, Apple Pay and Google Pay as well.
If you are already giving via the Adventist giving site, we want to encourage you to keep using that, andPLEASE don’t go into debt to give to your church. But thank you for your support.
