Here is a budget snapshot as an update for those of you who would like to see what it looks like currently.
From Pastor Roger…
Prayer is the heartbeat of the church. I am reminded of how much Jesus relied on communication through prayer with His Father. I think of the battle that was raged for our salvation in the Garden of Gethsemane. Prayer is not preparation for the battle, rather, prayer IS the battle. I invite you to prayer. I invite you to pray.
Every morning, many of us get together at 6:00am for a prayer call. We are praying for the Holy Spirit, we are praying for a baptism of the Holy Spirit. We are praying for our kids, for evangelism, and for people who are hurting. We are gathering for a short reading, then we pray. It only lasts for about a half hour.
This Sunday, November 1, we are launching a second prayer call. If the 6:00am prayer call is too early for you (it will continue), we are also going to add a second prayer call at 7:00am. This Sunday – don’t forget the time change – both prayer calls begin using this phone number: 360-552-7004.
As a church, our time together in prayer is essential. You will find, if you choose to join us, encouragement, strengthening your spiritual muscles, and your faith increased. You will also find people who will partner with you as prayer warriors for the issues you desire.
Starting this Sunday, November 1, 6:00am and 7:00am.
Join us at 360-552-7004.
And to end, here is a great story about our mission – Reach Up, Reach Deep, Reach Out – and why it matters!
This is an email we received in the church office, with the name changed:
“My name is “Cindy.” I am no longer in the area, but before I unsubscribe to the mailing list, I want to thank a few people specifically for welcoming me every Sabbath that I attended while I was in Portland. I honestly miss it even though I was only there for a few weeks and only got to speak to a few people. This is a little embarrassing because I didn’t catch hers, but to the tall beautiful lady at the door who always remembered my name and welcomed me by name every Sabbath–you are such a huge reason why I kept coming back. There’s something that feels like Jesus when someone knows your name–especially when you hardly know anyone and you’re in a new city all alone. Thank you so very much. To the gentleman who set me up on the mailing list so that I could get the sabbath school links every week and feel up to date, thank you. You made me feel like attending a new church for the first time all alone was the most natural thing in the world; and after that my nervous heart was okay. You gave me a bottle of water and took the time to email me the sabbath school link that morning so that, even though no one was in the church right then and there, I could join in. You are the reason I kept coming back, too. I’ve rarely in my life attended church alone. I’ve always gone with friends or family. I have to admit that it was a conscious decision to push past the awkwardness and loneliness of attending alone–but I knew that as soon as I got 50 feet from the door I would hear a “Good morning, “Cindy!” Happy Sabbath” and I’ve never been more excited to get my temperature checked.
God bless you all,
Never grow weary in well-doing, for “in due season we shall reap if we faint not.”
I will always anticipate my next visit.”
That, church, is what it’s all about. I love being your pastor!

Some sad news to share for those of you who remember former member and church treasurer, Marion Thurnhoffer.
She passed away earlier this year.
This has been a very strange and hard year. For everyone.
Your pastors are not immune. Yet they have worked hard to find new ways to continue leading this church during something none of us has ever experienced.
THIS MONTH, it’s our chance to say “Thank You” for all they have done, are doing, and will continue to do for our church family.
This letter was shared with the pastors in front of the church family on Sabbath, and we are sharing it with you here now:
Pastor Roger and Gail,
Pastor John and Joan,
Pastor Ryan and Bridget,
October is officially Pastor Appreciation Month! And we want all of you to know how much we appreciate and, might we add, love you. We are so blessed as a church with our pastoral staff.
This has been an unusual year to say the least! But you have led us through it and for that we are thankful. How can we say “thank you” for all you have done? Our gift will arrive at each of your homes in November, then again in December, and in January and monthly for a full year! This way you will be reminded monthly of how much we care for and love you.
You may have already guessed by now that we have enrolled each family in Harry and David’s Fruit of the Month Club! We hope you will enjoy the delicious variety of fruits that will be delivered directly to you at home! Please know that along with these gifts we are sending our prayers and asking God to bless your sweet families. We are committed as a church to support you and pray for you.
Thank you again for all you do for our church family.
Thank you for making our church God centered!
Your friends in God’s love.

Church Finances
You can bring your offerings to the church, or mail them (address at bottom). You can also go to the Adventist Giving Site to give – click here. We’ve also added the ability to give via Venmoor Paypal by searching “@AdventistCC“. Finally, we have giving kiosks where you can give with all major credit cards, Apple Pay and Google Pay as well.
If you are already giving via the Adventist giving site, we want to encourage you to keep using that. Thank you for your support.
