Isaiah 26:3 (NIV)
3 You will keep in perfect peace
those whose minds are steadfast,
because they trust in you.
Many people thought that this election would give them peace, but instead more people are in turmoil than ever before. I would likely say, that there is nothing that about politics that gives me peace. That isn’t to say, I’m not at peace. I’m fairly resolute. Why? Because I find my peace in Jesus. I find my heart and soul in Him.
The news will continue to foment, the reactions to counting or recounting or fraud or denials will continue to build. That’s maybe the most sure thing we have currently. The news will continue to take sides and continue to report what they see and hear and who knows where it will lead. I was struck by what someone said this morning on the prayer call.
Not an exact quote:
“We need to turn off our computer, we need to turn off our phones and we need turn off the news. Now is the time to get our faces deep into the word of God in the Bible. Learn what it says.”
I totally agree. The news will not bring peace. The election of Joe Biden or Donald Trump will not bring peace. The pandemic “solutions” and “fixes” will not bring peace. There is turmoil around the world with weather, politics, rage, and riots. We need Jesus Christ. We need to be connected there.
Isaiah 26:3 (NIV)
3 You will keep in perfect peace
those whose minds are steadfast,
because they trust in you.
Keep your mind on Jesus today. He will bring peace.

Agree! Nothing this world offers, apart from what comes from God, will bring us peace. We need to remember that this is not our home. We look forward to a home whose builder is God.
