If I’ve learned anything it’s that change is inevitable. I remember telling an associate pastor, as he was telling me that he was taking a call to go somewhere else, I said, “Nothing stays the same except change.” When Gail and I were getting ready to get married they said our major source of conflict would be that I love change and Gail cannot stand it. That’s been mostly true. But Gail would like to say that I don’t mind change that I’m in charge of, but when others are in charge of it, then it’s not so loved.
God says in Malachi 3:6 (NCV) “I the Lord do not change. So you descendants of Jacob have not been destroyed.” God never changes even when everything else around does. Take heart! God doesn’t change and is not some tyrant who changes his mind and destroys what he once loved. God never changes. He is full of Grace and Love.
