From Pastor Roger…
On the last two Sabbaths, Pastor Ryan has talked about discipleship in general, and this last Sabbath more specifically about our need of community. I mean, God said it first, “It is not good for man to be alone.” Our need for community is great. The value of the community groups that Pastor Ryan was talking about is providing community and discipleship in one package. It has been our primary focus for discipleship over the years and will remain that way.
Sure, COVID has put some stress on our Community Groups. However, some have set the standard for us. Some have continued on Zoom and telephones. Others, as time has gone on, have begun to meet in person again. Community can be had – still – in the midst of COVID. Community Groups can still happen for any and all ages and still be safe, still see growth, still put your spiritual roots down deep.
Pastor Ryan has a one-day training coming up that will help us learn about how to build a community group, be in a group, or lead one. It is not just for leaders, but also for people who desire to grow spiritually with other believers. It’s a time to re-learn, re-launch, and re-commit to growing in community.
Life truly is best when lived within a community of believers. I’ll have more to say about this on Sabbath. I hope you’ll join us for the live services or on the livestream.
I love being your pastor!
